VISIT
Visits, tourism and certain short trips may use different routes depending on your passport, purpose and eligibility.
AUSTRALIAVPI INTERNATIONALThe first decision is not which insurance to buy. It is understanding why you are going.
Study, work, travel, move for your profession or reunite with family: the same country can be reached through very different paths. We start by clarifying the situation before discussing cover.

BEFORE DISCUSSING COVER
Australia organises its migration system into different paths depending on what you want to do, your personal situation and the requirements you meet.
This page is for guidance and must be checked against the current official requirements.
Visits, tourism and certain short trips may use different routes depending on your passport, purpose and eligibility.
The Student visa 500 is the main reference for study. There are also specific routes for guardians and certain training programmes.
The Working Holiday Maker programme uses two subclasses depending on nationality and eligibility, and allows a holiday stay to be combined with short-term work and study.
When a company wants to fill a position with an overseas professional, temporary or permanent sponsored routes may be relevant.
Routes may be based on professional skills, invitation, nomination or regional connection, depending on the subclass.
Partner routes vary according to the situation, where the application is made and the type of relationship.
THE INSURANCE SIDE
We do not recommend an international solution without first understanding the type of stay and the requirements affecting the case. Migration requirements and additional cover that may make sense for your trip or stay are two different things.
YOUR ROUTE, THREE DECISIONS
STUDY · WORK · TRAVEL · FAMILY
SHORT · TEMPORARY · LONG-TERM
REQUIREMENT · ASSISTANCE · ADDITIONAL PROTECTION

STUDENT VISA · 500
For Student visa 500, the student and included family members must maintain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) from an approved Australian provider during the stay, unless an exception applies.
An international policy purchased in Spain should therefore not be presented as a substitute for OSHC where it is mandatory. Any additional needs before, during or after the covered period can be considered separately.
Requirements may change and must always be checked against the official information applicable to the application.WORKING IN AUSTRALIA

MIGRATION GUIDANCE
This page helps you understand the main visa families and organise the initial questions. When a case requires migration assistance, that side should be reviewed by a professional authorised to provide it in Australia.
VPI focuses on insurance preparation and helping you separate migration requirements from additional cover that may make sense.

Once we know what you need, we can organise the insurance side much more precisely.
QUESTIONS WORTH ASKING
It depends on your reason for travelling, your profile and the applicable requirements. This page summarises some of the main families, but choosing and preparing an application should be reviewed for your specific case.
The 189 is an independent skilled route based on invitation; 190 requires state or territory nomination; and 491 is provisional and oriented towards regional Australia, with its own requirements.
Both belong to the Working Holiday Maker programme, but the available subclass depends on nationality and the requirements applicable to each programme.
For Student visa 500, OSHC from an approved Australian provider is generally required for the student and included family members, unless an exception applies.
A Spanish international policy should not be presented as a substitute for OSHC where it is mandatory. Additional cover should be considered separately.
Temporary or permanent sponsored routes may be available depending on the position, company, profile and applicable requirements. The migration side should be reviewed professionally.
Different routes are available depending on the relationship, where the application is made and the circumstances of the case. There is no single route valid for every situation.
Visa 485 allows certain international graduates to live, study and work temporarily in Australia after their studies if they meet the requirements of the relevant stream.
VPI does not provide Australian migration advice. We focus on the insurance side and help you distinguish insurance needs from questions requiring professional migration review.
